Martha Fender spent her childhood years as a Coast Guard “Brat,” moving from place to place. She moved to Beaufort in 1982 when she married Sherwood. Martha has been a broker for the last 45 years, specializing in land development and all aspects of real estate sales.
She has served as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of her local association, as well as serving on the Grievance Committee for years. Martha owned and was Broker-In-Charge of Coastal Carolina Realty for 26 years.
She has volunteered with numerous community organizations over the years, including CAPA, Child Abuse Shelter (where she was one of the founding members), and served on the board of Islands Community Bank, known now as Ameris Bank, where she is currently one of the Directors.
Her real passion in life has been as an advocate for children, competing with her horses, and her real estate career.
Any time Martha crosses the bridges in Beaufort, she is so happy to live here. The aroma of the marshes, the blue waters of the rivers and beaches, and the changing seasons are the very wonder of the Lowcountry. You will feel the same too, once you arrive in our beautiful city.
Martha has been in real estate since 1978 and became a broker in 1980. With her many years of experience, she will help you find the perfect property or help find a buyer for one you already have.
